Pioneer Strategies wins Hermes Creative Award for Carolina Crab Brewing Company mascot logo

Pioneer Strategies, a public relations and marketing communication firm based in Leland, recently won a Gold Hermes Creative Award in the Print Media – Logo Design category for the Carolina Crab Brewing Company’s mascot logo designed by Senior Account Executive Zach Drennan.

“The Carolina Crab Brewing Company wanted to create a fun mascot to accompany its corporate logo. The logo needed to reflect its all-inclusive vision and leave a friendly, welcoming and fun impression,” said Drennan. “Throughout the process we continuously tinkered with the colors, textures and shape of the crab’s features. From getting the expression just right, to taming the scruffy beard, we took our time perfecting every detail.”

Carolina Crab Brewing Company unveiled the mascot at its groundbreaking near Southport, N.C. in January 2022.

“Zach went the extra mile on this project and invested a great deal of creative energy to ensure that the crab reflected the client’s creative and strategic direction,” said Frank Williams, President of Pioneer Strategies. “I’m pleased that his excellent work was recognized with a Hermes Creative Award.”

Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals.
